To all SSG10 owners

The SSG-10 launch was a big success and we received more orders than we ever expected. The result of such a big launch is thousands of people receiving their guns within a couple days.

While most people are really happy with their SSG-10s, their will be a small percentage of customers who have open questions or some kind of problem. In most cases these problem come from wrong use and/or disassembly and reassembly by the customer.

But of course we are not perfect either and it can happen that a faulty gun can slip through our quality control. If we release Generation 2 parts to lower the chance of a problem, this parts will go into the future batches of SSG-10s.

We will also offer them to SSG-10 owners of previous batches, so that you can keep your rifle updated to the newest version. This page will help people with questions and problems to sort these out and it also contains a lot of other useful information.

Troubleshooting

Missfeeding / Feeding Issues

Problem Description

Even when my magazine is loaded with BBs, sometimes there is no BB coming out the barrel when I shoot the SSG-10.

Reason:

The magazine that is included with your rifle, is tested in your rifle before it leaves our warehouse. The sparemags that you ordered were not tested in your rifle, but in our Testing SSG-10. This is why it can happen that you might experience feeding issues on a very small amount of spare magazines ordered.
The SSG-10 is VSR-10 based which means that there are many factors that can influence the feeding of the rifle. It can range from loose screws on the rifle, dirty BBs, low-quality BBs, manufacturing tolerance on the rifle parts and the magazine parts.

Solution

Please watch the video to learn what you can do.

Cylinder Wobble / Nozzle hitting hopup chamber

Problem Description

When I rack the bolt there is some play in the cylinder / When I return the bolt into the receiver I feel how something metallic hits something at the last two centimeters.

Reason:

As the SSG-10 is a VSR-10 based design there is some tolerance in the Receiver Barrel Assembly which is compensated by a certain play in the cylinder.
If you wiggle on the back of the cylinder in all directions while you insert the bolt you will notice this play. However, during normal use, so basically playing, racking the bolt and shooting this should not influence the performance of the gun in any way as the chamfer on the hopup chamber and the chamfer on the nozzle align these two parts during return.

Solution

If you dislike this play or the feeling of the Nozzle centering into the hopup chamber please wait until we release a Generation 2 glidering. This part will be for free and part of the 25 years spare part agreement.

Airseal Issues

Problem Description

When I close the endcap with my finger and pull the trigger, I can hear air leaking out of the system slowly and the pop is not very loud when I release the finger.

Reason:

We designed the SSG-10 for players. It must be airtight so that the power of the spring transfers into the BB acceleration and not into an air leak.
However, the SSG-10 was never designed to hold the pressure for longer than needed. An airsoft BB leaves the gun in less than 100ms. That is a tenth of a second. Within this time the gun must have good compression to achieve the necessary efficiency to produce 5.0 Joules with a spring that is still manageable to pull back.
Solution:

Solution

Measure the muzzle speed of your SSG-10. If it's power sits where it should be according to the spring table, your gun is perfectly fine. If your Joule rating is way too low, please contact customer support.

O-Ring fell out

Problem Description

A big O-ring fell out of my gun when I took of the outer barrel. I have no idea where it is supposed to be installed.

Reason:

This o-ring goes in between the receiver and Outer barrel. It is there for mass production and for ease of the assembly process as it helps to center the Outer barrel in the receiver before the thread grips. After a couple of assemblies and disassemblies by the customer, it will fall out and might even be broken.

Solution

Throw it into the trash. This part has no function once the gun is assembled. We will not put this ring into the SSG-10 starting from batch#3 as it seems to confuse customers too much.
