What's the best way to carry my airsoft gear?

There is no one best way to carry your gear on an airsoft field. Some people prefer to run pretty lightweight on the field so they can be more active, choosing Chest Rigs or Battle Belts. Others prefer the added protection of Plate Carriers, as well as their carrying capacity and modularity. If you choose any of these options, you won't make a mistake. Any of the aforementioned options are great if you know what you're looking for.

Why buy a Plate Carrier designed for Airsoft?

Plate Carriers are great, but they are made with a specific purpose in mind, and that is to stop projectiles from striking the user of the plate carrier. We in airsoft don't need the ballistic protection from BBs, so we made our Airsoft Plate Carrier way more breathable and lightweight with Ventilated Plates.

Additional Airsoft Gear you should think about

Airsoft gear is not only about the carrying systems themself. If you're getting one, you should not forget to pick up some pouches that go together with your replica of choice. Also, if you play on a CQB field, you should consider getting a Tactical Helmet to prevent some unwanted head trauma from bumping into stuff on the field.

Beginner TIP

Do not double stack your magazine pouches on your plate carrier. We know it looks cool, but when it is time to lay down because you're getting shot at, the double-stack front pouches will make sure you won't be able to do it comfortably.

Battle Belts or Plate Carrier: Which are better?

It depends on your play style and what you expect your gear to do: If you are used to running around the field, and you prefer mobility over protection, and you only need extra magazines and maybe your secondary gun on the field, then battle belts are made for you. They allow you to carry the essentials while affording you mobility while carrying some of your load.

If you want to carry more and be better supplied for longer games without going back to the respawn, you should be looking into plate carriers. They have more MOLLE space to carry more stuff for you like more additional magazines, extra BBs, water and way more. They also offer you additional protection from incoming BBs. There is always a disadvantage in the case of plate carriers, though. It has a somewhat lowered mobility compared to the battle belts.

Gear Tips for Airsoft Snipers

Gear for snipers is more specific simply because there is a greater need for camouflage than for your average player. We have special versions of both the Minimal Chest Rig & the Battlebelt Gen3 that have 3D leaves already on them for additional camouflage. If you are an airsoft sniper and you still want to have a helmet, we also offer a 3D Camo Cover for our Tactical Helmet.

Tactical Chest Rigs: What are they for?

Tactical Chest Rigs, like our Minimal Chest Rig, are a great middle ground between Plate Carriers & Battle Belts. They offer additional carrying capacity compared to the battle belt, but they are not as bulky as a fully loaded plate carrier. They are great for snipers and DMR players who need to carry a lot of stuff but need the mobility to get into weird positions to take difficult shots. Chest rigs are also useful for players who like to travel to the field lightweight while still having all of their gear accessible on the field. Simply put, chest rigs are jack-of-all-trades masters of non when it comes to carrying gear in airsoft.

Common Questions: Buying an Airsoft Gear

What should I get first? A Battle Belt or a Plate Carrier?

Battle Belts allow you to be more agile and affordable, so we would recommend you start there. Battle belts can carry all you need for your pick-up games and a little more. In contrast, plate carriers are great for added protection. When starting out, people tend to overload them with unnecessary pouches. If you can stop the urge to carry everything in a kitchen sink and just carry the essentials (Magazines, Speedloader), then plate carriers might be the thing for you.

What should I wear for my first game?

For your first game, you should not really go all out, wear some old outdoor clothes or sweatpants in neutral colors, bring a pair of eyepro, maybe a mesh mask, your replica and a good attitude. Also, don’t be afraid to ask fellow airsofters on the field and in the off-zone about their gear and their experiences. They will be more than happy to help you.
